The Nativity of Christ Cathedral in Latvia's capital city Riga, with Riga's Old Town and the Daugava River in the distance. (From the book What I Eat: Around the World in 80 Diets.) It proudly hosts the nationwide Latvian Song and Dance Festival every five years. In 2008 more than 38,000 singers, dancers, and musicians participated in the weeklong event.
